The Animals Of Hummingbird Hill....

Our family lives and works on our farm here in northwest Georgia.  Our small farm is affectionately known as Hummingbird Hill. We have many hummers that visit us each year (hence the name Hummingbird Hill). We have not had any that decided to winter here. Although we have plenty of other animal babies to love on.

We thought you might like to meet our crew.  First up, our mini horses. Esther is the Mommy,

Tucker is the Daddy, and Scooter is the baby boy (Tucker is on the left and Scooter is on the right).  Although he is getting rather big these days. He runs around the property right beside his Daddy, stride for stride! We believe Esther is pregnant (which will be her last). She doesn't do much running these days. She can usually be found somewhere near the hay stack!

Tucker giving Dolly a little love.

Next up are the potbelly pigs. Ms. Piggy is the female.

Slim Pickens is the boy.  They are rather robust piggies and give full meaning to potbelly!!

George Burns is our turkey. He can be seen anywhere at anytime. Ya' never know what shenanigans George Burns will pull!

Next up are the chickens and roosters.  We have Mammy, Bashful, Thelma, Louise and Tubie and of course the rooster... he's Elvis.

"The littles" are our small dogs, cat and flying squirrel. Girly and Lil' Man they are the dog part of "The Littles". They are usually where ever we go. They supervise all activities, and we refer to Lil' Man as "the fun killer".  Don't laugh too loud around him, as he is sure to bark, like a librarian saying shhhhh!!!!

Girly is very sweet. She loves to ride to the post office to deliver ya'lls packages. And receives a slim jim for a trip treat!

Charly Brown she's next.  She's our sweet kitty that brings us gifts all the time.

and the last "Little" is Peanut.  He's a baby flying squirrel.  Charlie Brown caught him and Dolly saved him.  He has injured feet so we could not release him back in the wild so he lives here with us now.  Mostly rides around in a pouch pinned to the inside of Linda's shirt and loves to peak out and look around

Jazzy is our herd dog. She watches over all the animals and keeps us all safe.  She is such a gentle soul!

So you have met our crew.  You now know what we do when we are not making signs for you!  We are spending time with "the crew" of Hummingbird Hill.

Thanks for stopping bye.  Don't forget to stop in the store and check out our items on ebay at www.signsbykelin.com - until we blog again.  Dolly and Linda

Train Days in Summerville, GA!

Saturday Signs By Kelin went to the local festival. It was a great experience! Summerville, Ga. Is beautiful in the fall. People board the train in Tennessee to see the fall colors. The train ends in Summerville. The passengers unload while the train literally turns around. Its really a sight to see. While the train turns around the passengers walk down to the festival in the park. Venders lined the walk ways waiting for the flood of patrons. The live band played under the pavilion while the smell of fudge, cotton candy and bbq filled the air. Little kids could be seen running around the park with balloon swords. Adults could be heard laughing loudly at our signs. The weather was just right.  After the festival we enjoyed the train again, because it runs along the road we live on. The kids really enjoy waving at the passengers riding on the train.

Hope everyone's week has started well.  We had doctors appointments Monday.  My uncle Keith is in remission from cancer. My youngest son has cerebral palsy. So we all had a fun filled day of doctors, mask and gloves! (There are many causes we donate 10% of wood sign sales from ebay to; Cancer research, CP international/special Olympics, heart disease, veterans, and animals are among the list. We love giving back! I will post a list of the charities soon.).

All is well here, which is great. Winter is on its way! We've had one frost that wiped out half our small pumpkin patch. We decided to bring our potted plants inside.

We have some really funny quotes lined up. Be sure to head over to ebay and check them out. Tell us what you think. Share some of your jokes and quotes.
Talk to ya'll soon!

Until I blog again Dolly with www.signsbykein.com

Fun At The Festival And A Selfie

Signs by Kelin set up at Downy Park in Summerville, GA yesterday!  It was the Blues, Stews and Bar B Que festival.  We enjoyed it.  Met loads of nice people, handed out lots of cards, made some sells and the smell! Oh My!  All that food!  Smelled lovely.  You should have been there!  I'm sure Dolly will be by later and post some photos of our set up but I'm cropping photos that Dolly took this last week of the signs we created and I had to just share this one!  Yes!  That's the behind the scenes' Niece - Dolly.  Hope it made you smile as much as it did me.

Sanding...

Sanding is the second step to our sign work. (After cutting) Sanding allows us to prepare the wood for paint. It also gives each wood its unique character. Some edges are more rounded than others. Some signs are sanded heavily between coats to make a particular design. We enjoy playing with designs. The possibilities are endless. We painted a yellow 8x10 that turned out really well. I also like the smaller black and white design with extra sanding. I hope yall enjoy them as much as we enjoy making them! From our family to yours, have a magnificent saturday!!
